Professor Cooke has been interested in Tropical Diseases and Parasitology for many years. This experience began in Papua New Guinea and was expanded during 23 years working at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and also in the subsequent years.
Professor Cooke is recognised internationally as an Anatomical Pathologist with extensive specialist expertise in the field of Tropical Pathology. Professor Cooke most recently published ‘Infectious Diseases –atlas, cases, text.’ McGraw-Hill 2008, which
in late 2009 won two prestigious awards:
The Australian Book publishers award for the best scientific book in 2008.
The British Medical Association top award as the best illustrated textbook in 2008.
